Police on Campus

I really don't understand why the cops are so adament on busting so many parties on and off campus. It's annoying. They also ticket way too many cars for parking in the lots. I think the cops need to chill and not take their job so seriously. This is Slippery Rock, not many terrible crimes happen here. Does anyone else agree with me? Disagree?

Teaching Warm-Up

Today I had to teach a warm-up lesson in my Life and Leisure class. First, my partner and I taught high knees, lunges, skipping, etc. The class had to perform the skills in the Field House traveling from one white line then back to the other. After we went through these skills, my partner and I taught a tag game that is called "Banana Tag". The class really enjoyed this activity. The question I have for everyone is; "Does anyone get nervous when teaching a lesson?" or "Do you mumble or mess up words during the lesson?" let me know if you experience these feelings.

Post Allegheny Forest Trip

I really enjoyed the Allegheny trip. The trail that we hiked is 6.6 miles and it is called Minister Trail. It contains many uphill and downhill spots with lots of rocks along the way. It was so fun to hike the trail. The weather was gorgeous as well. i didnt really enjoy sleeping in the tent on the hard ground though. It got very chilly at night and i slept on large root from a nearby tree, not very comfortable. The only other negative was that there were many tiny bugs flying around in everyone's face, even bug spray didn't keep them away! I learned alot about my classmates and had some bonding time. All in all, it was a great camping and hiking experience!

Camping at Allegheny Forest

This Saturday, 9/19/09, I am going camping at Allegheny National Forest with my Outdoor Pursuits class. We are hiking on the Minister Creek Trail. We are backpacking so we have to hike 4 miles on Saturday and 2 miles on Sunday. We had to pack for two lunches, a dinner, and a breakfast. I am very excited because I enjoy the outdoors and like being around nature. The weather calls for 75 degrees and sunny both days. Thats excellent! I cannot wait!
